Can not send mail with smtp.tre.it?
For several days, the outgoing server smtp.tre.it can not send mail to the lucky owners of modemini that allow us to survive in the sad conditions without DSL. The
dear friend Stefano Gennari, who, like myself, loves to venture into finding solutions, he immediately found a remedy, however, requires an account with Gmail.
If you do not, you have to ask someone who has already 'and that it shall invite you. After you have 50 invitations to many people.
Once you have a Gmail account, go to Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, or whatever, and go to the session on the mail account
- Look for the outgoing server and where you currently have: smtp.tre.it (smtp.tre.biz), change in:
smtp.gmail.com Then go to the part where you enter the password and login (again for outgoing mail: varies program to program) and enter your username and password of your choice for Gmail.
Change the outgoing mail port from 25 to 465 and SSL checked.
Mail should go!
Thanks again to Stefano Gennari (give to Caesar what is 'Caesar') and resent very soon.
Federico Ferro.
